I'm using an old (9 years old) accounting program that no longer has support and uses an Aladdin Safenet HASP HL red dongle key as protection, I'm afraid the thing might broke at any time and wanted to either make a backup of it or use some kind of emulation to keep the usb dongle in a safe place. The computer is using windows xp pro sp3. First of all unpack HASPHL2010.zip and put HASPHL2010.exe to any folder on your drive and run HASPHL2010.exe on machine that has latest version of Aladdin HASP HL dongle drivers installed and your parallel port or USB hardware dongle connected to computer.

Dongles can be a major source of frustration for customers who need to run legacy or unsupported applications, however, as new operating systems, lost dongles, or new hardware can mean the programs will no longer run. In these cases, a dongle emulator is sometimes used to trick a program into believing a physical HASP dongle is connected.
