- Mount both of the ISO files from the torrent. Grab the DIABDAT.MPQ from the emulated Diablo CD. Do not run the Diablo installer, only run the Hellfire one as vanilla Diablo is neither required for Hellfire to work nor compatible with the fixes/mods above.
- After Hellfire has been installed, extract or drag and drop the files found in the following zips/files in the Hellfire directory in the following order:
- Hellfire-102-102A4.zip
- PlugUlmo.ini
- Overwrite anything if prompted. Run the ColorFix Hellfire 64/32-bit.reg key which should be found in your Hellfire directory or otherwise originally in the Hellfire-102-102A4.zip. Run ONLY ONE of them. Use the 64-bit one if you're running on a 64-bit operating system and, conversely, the 32-bit one if you're running on a 32-bit operating system.
- Launch the game through the loader.exe as an admin.
- If you wish to enable and have a functioning multiplayer experience, extract the Diablo Net Compatibility Package.zip and drag/copy the files found in the ipxwrapper-0.4.0 folder to your Hellfire directory. Run and install the Hamachi setup and simply join/create a Hamachi group to have a functioning 'LAN', then launch the game and create/join a game through the L.A.N.-IPX option. Running into the relayed tunnel issue is likely; make sure that you're letting Hamachi through your firewall. If not, add the hamachi-2.exe as an exception/trusted program. If the problem persists, usually, and weirdly so, restarting Hamachi (not while the game is launched) once/several times does the trick. Else, Google is your friend.
